SCULPTURE

Sculptures begin with material and end with context. In between is a process of observation and discovery: carving, stacking, shifting surfaces and using depth to reveal form and catch light. Works explore tension - the push and pull of form and space, across stone, wood and metal, seeking outcomes that hold balance and beauty if not something more spiritual.

Sculpture challenges me to negotiate with forces beyond my control - the fixed boundaries of physics, the quiet abstractions of nature, and the knowledge that placement is the final determinant of how a work is perceived, and felt.
